10 Minute Chair project
Left over from the chair day projects, was a pile of bits of chair: wooden legs, plywood seats, fabric cushions, bits of metal and so on. I thought it would be hypocritical of me just to when just thrown it away, so I decided to use it.
With this design, I wanted to make it extremely simple and to build it very quickly. So I merely placed two spares bits of old chair together, making an ‘A frame structure’, then braced it together with some angled blocks of wood and secured a seat to it. I intentionally made the design like this to resemble exactly what it is, pieces of chair put together, and create the sense of reuse and repair, to show that any material can be reused and be functional once more.

Film piece-
As the making of this chair was incredibly quick, I decided to film the process.
I recored every small part of construction that took place in order to create this chair design. I wanted the film to evoke a playful and fun attitude to repair, as it wasn't hard to make and it was a sunny afternoon accompanied with a beer in the garden. |
