Introduction-
During the course of my study into all things wasted, discarded and deemed useless. I have been exploring the many ways that waste products, such as furniture can be reused, either as fully functional pieces of everyday life, or as abstract pieces of art, highlighting the issue of the throw away culture and how found materials can be utilized in an efficient manner.
I have been focusing my attention on a particular object that is regarded as one of the most useful forms, and has been creatively developed over the past one hundred years. But in the same instants, discarded and thrown away with out any hesitation; the chair.

Illustration booklet-
Illustration booklet, designed to show all of the various chair designs I have produced, I also created all of the chair illustrations in this document. I take much influence from early, modernist design and graphic design, so I hope to reflect this in my work.
I am also very interested in the Bauhaus movement and the product design which immerged from there, and the rule that they practised to, 'form follows function'.

Transporting chairs-
I also created this document, which highlighted the other aspects of the chair project which I found interesting: transportation of the found chairs.
'The process of transporting these chairs from their found location is equally as interesting to me as the rest of the restoration project. I would use any means necessary to get these chairs back to my home. Usually I would be on my bicycle when I find these chairs, so attaching them to my bike was often the process I’d go through.
I would need to work out the easiest way to attach them onto my bike and hopefully still be able to cycle with it.'
