Voluntary work @ Happytat
Introduction- February 2013
Happytat is a charitable second-hand furniture sales outlet that is run and founded by a local Stokes Croft community charity, ‘Love Bristol’. Love Bristol also run and occupy a few other small charitable businesses in and around Stokes Croft.
Happytat was set up and founded by a guy called ‘Steve’. Whose vision it was to sell furniture that is recycled, up-cycled and make affordable to people who cannot afford new. Also, in addition to this, this project was set up to try and prompt and motivate people back into work.
Furniture is donated to Happytat so that it can be sold on to generate some cash for a worthy cause.
They also take on broken and unwanted pieces of furniture. With the help from volunteers, the broken, unloved furniture can be restored or up-cycled, to a standard that ads value to the item and then sold on.

Current Project
This is the current piece of furniture I am restoring for 'Happytat'. Check out the 'Projects' page for its progression.
Project finished- Feb 8th to March 5th.
The finished result-
After weeks of blood sweat and cups of coffee, the chest of drawers is finally finished. Finished in this lovely cream and dark green colour to mimic the time it came from, quite a retro look I believe.
It was placed out on display, priced at £60! And still awaits its new owner…
